For those who still need to get work hours done there is still stuff to do.  Here is a list of current project that we have at the club.  Please contact Jim Graham (330) 314-4723 if interested in working on one of them…

-archery trails cleaned

-clean out ditches

 -remove and replace front gate posts

 

The trustees and officers are looking for members who can operate chainsaws.  Please contact Jim Graham you can do this and need hours still for 2021.

 

We will be taking nomination for trustees and officer at the December meeting.  Voting will be at the January meeting.  You need to have been to 6 meetings in 2021 and have been a member for at least 2 years.  Any person who wants to be a trustee or officer must be willing to do projects and work at the club.

 

Members voted and approved the replacing of the bridge.

 

We are looking for a member to be the chairperson of the 60 gun raffle ticket sales.  Please contact a trustee or officer if interested.

 

Turkey Shoots – Kevin Tisher (330) 399-7132

Starting Sunday September 5th at 1:00pm until November 21st we will have Turkey Shoots.  Call Kevin if you are interested in helping to get some hours or participating.  There is also a gun raffle being held.  Tickets will be available at all club meetings and turkey shoots.  Winner will get a new CZ-USA Bobwhite G2 12 gauge (please contact Kevin for info on gun or see flyer hanging in club house).  Tickets are $25.00 each or 2 or more for $20.00 each. 

 

Girl and a Gun – Pam Karousis (330) 720-1110  PAKnFirearms@gmail.com

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Friday each month (unless a holiday weekend) for the National A Girl And A Gun Club Women's Shooting League meetings. www.agirlandagunclub.com. All experience levels are welcome from beginners to advanced! We meet at the clubhouse from 5:30 pm till 8:00pm and the cost is $10 for Vienna F&G club members and $15 for non-members. Contact Pam for more info! Schedule for 2021 is November 12th and December 10th.

 

4-H Sign-ups – Larry Beardsley (330) 898-4486

Sign-ups for 4-H will be November 19th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Kids from 9 to 18 years old are welcome. Meetings are 5:00pm to 9:00pm and are the 1st and 3rd Fridays starting in January and going through May.  Aprils meeting will be the 4th Friday instead of the 3rd.  Dues are $25.00 plus $2.00 for each night attended.  Must be signed up by November 19th.  Call Larry with any questions.

 

Indoor Pistol – George Palo (330) 856-9949

This is open to MEMBERS ONLY NOW.  Open every Thursdays starting at 4:00pm (except meeting night, first Thursday of each month).  Members can shoot for free.  Call George to ask about helping to get work hours.

We are currently taking membership renewals.  We will take renewals until the March meeting.  Please call to see how many hours you have logged.  Dues are as followed…

R1/2 member -15 year’s continuous membership and 65 years of age or older (with all 10 hours worked): $30.00

Regular member (with all 10 hours worked): $60.00

Spousal member (with all 10 hours worked):  $36.00

We are also taking new members.  New membership dues are as followed….

New single membership dues: $176.00

New spousal membership dues with both people new to club (2 keys, 2 member cards, 2 badges): $288.00

New spousal membership dues with one spouse already a member: $112.00

All new (probationary) members are REQUIRED to work their hours their first year.  You CANNOT buy your hours as a probationary member.  Dues must be cash or check (written out to Fish and Game Club of Vienna).

I will be at the club starting at 5:30pm at the next meeting, December 9th, 2021.    Please come early so we don’t have a long line when the meeting starts.

Please contact John about cleaning. The new list is posted for 2021 by the door to the kitchen.  If you have been on the list in the past and wish to continue, please check the list and make sure your still on it.  If you no longer wish to clean, please cross out your name so he can add new person.  If no answer, please leave a message and he will return your call as soon as possible.

Trap is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sunday’s beginning at 11:00 AM.  Fee is $3.50 per round.  Help is needed to load the trap houses and score.  Good way to get work hours in. Make arrangements ahead of time with Darrell for the date and time you would like to help by contracting him for approval.

**Please return target frames to the range pavilion (on the concrete) after each use.  This will keep them out of the weather as well as out of the way during lawn mowing.  Thanks!  Dave**

***Paper targets and authorized reactionary targets only are allowed on rifle range!!***

Also, no center fire rifle or shot gun on pistol range

Authorized reactionary targets for use on the rifle and pistol ranges are defined as a target made of steel or polymer/plastic material, not to exceed 3 feet in height and to remain stationary during use.  This does not include targets or other objects that move or change position when struck by gunfire,  examples being polymer/plastic/synthetic or metal type balls, cubes, stars, etc., gulf balls, plastic/glass jugs, and bottles of all types,  concrete blocks/bricks and any other object not authorized.  These restrictions are to insure that no errant shots escape the confines of the rifle and pistol ranges and to insure the safety of all on the club grounds and outlying areas.  Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Shirley Williams Memorial Ladies Firearms Class – Joan Russo (724) 699-5281

We have just finished the second class for this year.  All ladies received their certificates.  Several ladies plan on joining the club and two from the last class have already signed up for out May 2022 class.  We have 6 ladies signed up for the May 2022 class so please call if you want to take the class next year.  Classes run May 10th, 2022 to June 28th, 2022 then again July 12th, 2022 to August 30th, 2022.  Please call Joan at (724) 699-5281.  Instructor’s Day Out is September 11th, 2021 at 3:00pm.

She cannot attend the actual meeting so she doesn’t know what needs to be in each month.
