For those who still need to get work hours done there is plenty of stuff to do. Here is a list of current project that we have at the club. Please contact Jim Graham (330) 314-4723 if interested in working on one of them…
-redo roofs on the rifle and pistol ranges
-make ramp for pistol range (must be at least 3 foot wide)
-archery grass cut
-archery trails cleaned
-string trimming as needed
-fix floor (Matt Bauer)
-clean out gutters
-extend tractor barn area
-clean out ditches
-electrify ranges (through parking lot)
-remove and replace front gate posts
The trustees and officers are looking for members who can operate the following: zero turn mowers, Kubota tractor, use sting trimmers, rum mowers, run chainsaws. Please contact Jim Graham is you can do this.
Turkey Shoots – Kevin Tisher (330) 399-7132
Starting Sunday September 5th at 1:00pm until November 21st we will have Turkey Shoots. Call Kevin if you are interested in helping to get some hours or participating. There is also a gun raffle being held. Tickets will be available at all club meetings and turkey shoots. Winner will get a new CZ-USA Bobwhite G2 12 gauge (please contact Kevin for info on gun or see flyer hanging in club house). Tickets are $25.00 each or 2 or more for $20.00 each.

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Friday each month (unless a holiday weekend) for the National A Girl And A Gun Club Women's Shooting League meetings. www.agirlandagunclub.com. All experience levels are welcome from beginners to advanced! We meet at the clubhouse from 5:30 pm till 8:00pm and the cost is $10 for Vienna F&G club members and $15 for non-members. Contact Pam for more info! Schedule for 2021 is September 10th and 24th, October 8th and 22nd, November 12th and December 10th.
Olympic Rifle Shooting and Rifle Safety Program – Russ Evans (330) 534-5344
All girls and boys between the ages of 12 and 16 years are invited to participate in a 10 week course on safe gun handling and Olympic Position Rifle shooting. The classes will be conducted at the Fish and Game Club of Vienna. They are sponsored by the Cougars Junior Rifle Team, the Fish and Game Club of Vienna, the ODNR and the Friends of the NRA. Instruction will be provided by NRA certified coaches and instructors and will be given in both air rifle and 22 caliber single shot smallbore target rifle. The first meeting will be at 5:30pm on Monday evening Sept 13 and the classes will continue until Nov. 22. All equipment will be provided and the cost is $10.00 a week. Juniors need to have an adult sponsor with them for the first meeting. Young shooters will have the chance to work at their own pace as they learn gun safety and Olympic style rifle shooting in the prone, standing, sitting and kneeling positions. Young people who score well and have an interest may be invited to fill openings on the FGV Cougars Junior Rifle Team or other local junior teams. The team participates in the North East Ohio Junior Rifle League where they have been league champions the last 29 years. They also compete on the state and national level. They ranked nationally in the top 5 percent of four position and three position junior shooting teams. Reservations are required since space is limited to 18 young people. There will be a work party on Saturday September 18th starting at 8:30am. Please call Jim to let him know you want to help so he knows there will be people available. Lunch will be provided.
Lawn Mowing/Grounds – Sam Steele (330) 507-4554
HELP!! The grass is growing and needs mowing!! Give Sam a call and get on the schedule to help. Help is needed on Thursdays starting at 8:00am. If it is raining please call Sam. Great way to get work hours and help keep the club grounds beautiful for the summer.

Trap is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sunday’s beginning at 11:00 AM. Fee is $3.50 per round. Help is needed to load the trap houses and score. Good way to get work hours in. Make arrangements ahead of time with Darrell for the date and time you would like to help by contracting him for approval.

R1/2 member -15 year’s continuous membership and 65 years of age or older (with all 10 hours worked): $30.00
Regular member (with all 10 hours worked): $60.00
Spousal member (with all 10 hours worked): $36.00

Also, no center fire rifle or shot gun on pistol range
Authorized reactionary targets for use on the rifle and pistol ranges are defined as a target made of steel or polymer/plastic material, not to exceed 3 feet in height and to remain stationary during use. This does not include targets or other objects that move or change position when struck by gunfire, examples being polymer/plastic/synthetic or metal type balls, cubes, stars, etc., gulf balls, plastic/glass jugs, and bottles of all types, concrete blocks/bricks and any other object not authorized. These restrictions are to insure that no errant shots escape the confines of the rifle and pistol ranges and to insure the safety of all on the club grounds and outlying areas. We have just finished the second class for this year. All ladies received their certificates. Several ladies plan on joining the club and two from the last class have already signed up for out May 2022 class. We have 6 ladies signed up for the May 2022 class so please call if you want to take the class next year. Classes run May 10th, 2022 to June 28th, 2022 then again July 12th, 2022 to August 30th, 2022. Please call Joan at (724) 699-5281. Instructor’s Day Out is September 11th, 2021 at 3:00pm.
